Water Spots
Water Spots
Alright... I've found myself rather frustrated. I've had black cars before, but I've always gotten that "paint protection" thing the dealers always try to push... the one that guarentees against water spots and stuff. This time I didn't, and for the first time I realize that the protection they sell actuall works. hehe...
I can't get these things off for the life of me... they're on the top of the front bumper cover...
My camaro had the paint protection and they always just wiped right off...
Can someone help? How do I get rid of them?

Wax
I can feel for you, but I can't relate. I have Silver L. You might try Wax. Pain in the **** if you have to do it every time you wash, but if it works you might try liquid Cherry Wax. You could wax front bumper in about 5 min.

i dont have black, but, water spots will show on anything, but not as much, if i dont dry right i will get them..
i wash the truck always keeping the whole thing wet, so if i wash a section i always spray the entire truck, after all is washed and rinsed, a dry off run comes next, then right into the garage, when i clean the inside while the outside dry slowly, when most of the outside is dry some maguires quick detail over each section, this seems quicker than towel drying, not as much water to get off, and it seems to cut down on the spots drastically, and this is just to prevent them when u wash, to get rid of the ones that are there or from rain a good wax and car wash soap is needed..

3M imperial hand glaze will do the trick. I have used it on my black '93 Cobra, and there are no spots on it at all. Very easy to go on and off. I have not used anything that works better than this stuff. It out performs the Zaino products, believe it or not.
3M Hand glaze!!! THE BEST. Read the directions and it will make your black truck look like it was just painted!!!! No swirl marks or spots. Remember to wax sometime, because the glaze is more like a polish than a wax. NEVER wash in the sun and wash one section at a time, then rinse. Do it in sections. Also, get a silicone water blade to get the wash water off the truck.

If you know how to use a polishing pad with a rotary buffer, then you can produce a swirl free finish with one. Just takes the right polish/pad combo and lots of practice.
3M hand glaze "hardly lasts"? What does that mean? You mean that the bottle it comes in is small and there isnt much product in it to glaze your truck? Or it hardly lasts somehow when you apply it to your paint?
