I am saying that I did a 1inch eibach drop last week and when I took the truck off the lift, the front suspension was sitting on the bumpstops because I had yet to trim them. 01 bumpstops are not like 99 and 00 bumps, they are larger and are made out of some hard *** styrofoam and you can pop them out and trim them pretty easy.

Aside from that, let's go over the facts:
A truck was lowered.
The lower control arm was resting on a bump stop. How much will the lower control arm deflect if it hits a bump? Very little. Correct? Very scary if you know how dangerous it could be, especially if you are on a corner and hit a bump (just a regular street corner going a safe speed).
So, your suggestion was to trim the bump stop so the bump stop will allow the truck to settle more. But, how much suspension travel is left? I'm questioning the safety of the drop because it seems as if there is very little travel left. Does that make sense?

I guess I read your initial response wrong.. somtimes it is hard to figure out what someone is trying to say. sorry
with any lowering kit that involves springs, there is very little suspension travel left after the new springs have been installed, the ones I installed were eibach progressive rate springs. It rode pretty close to stock and didnt bottom at all.

I can understand the bumpstop dilemma. Mine is the stock "reg." height, and the bumpers are only about 2" away from the lower control arms as it is. I'm considering a two inch front drop on mine in the next couple of weeks, and that bothers me. Do they sell shorter bumpstops with springs? If they don't, they should. Would the L bumpers give me enough clearance for a 2" spring drop on a stock truck? I would know where to get them if that was the case.
