I don't ?? the cinderr blocks, but what about 4x6 wood. I myself have used them many times. I keep them in the garage so they don't rot.

I just did mine on Saturday morning and I did it without jack stands and used a 3 ton floor jack. I placed the jack under the hitch and jacked it up as far as the jack would allow (tires never came off the ground). I then took the lower and uper nuts off and placed a towel above the shackle, between the spring and the underside of the bed. I took the lower bolt out, the shackle came out. I then took the upper bolt out. I had to push up on the leaf spring to get the upper bolt clear of the frame rail. It was not too bad, just used a little leverage to get it up high enough. Would have been better with two people because the shackle almost knocked me out! If you have a hitch the whole process can be done in about 15 minutes. Very easy. To get the new shackle in the lower bracket, I just lined it up and pulled down on the leaf spring until it ed back into place. There is no need to get the wheels off the ground if you can't raise it all the way, just push the leaf spring up. I used BellTech and it looks SWEET!
