Am I safe to run this Filter on an otherwise stock truck till I get my chip ? Or should I wait due to leaning out the engine.

99% street driving to and from work with a little play.

You should be safe with any air intake mod until you get a chip, basically the chip will just amplify the benefits of having intake modifications. This truck runs very rich, plus the a/f meter should calibrate itself on its own rather well. Especially if you have an 01/02
