Question B&M vs 4x4 tranny pan

I'm going to be getting the Factory Tech Valve Body and a different tranny pan. My question is: Is the B&M pan that LFP has for over 3 times as much as a 4X4 pan from PSP really worth the money? And i'm talking about more than just lookin' good. I see that it has extra capacity even to the 4X4 pan, but is there anything else about it to justify to myself for paying that for it(lighter weight, easier to install, easier to change tranny fluid)? Thanx for all the great pics Odin, any help from all would be appreciated.

Thanx,
Bill

It holds 2 additional quarts over stock, instead of just one additional for the cheaper one.....what advantage that is, I don't know.......It does look a lot nicer, but who the hell is going under my truck anyways.........I can't justify one extra quart and better looks for 3 times as much money either.

You also get the cooling fins on the pan, and yes that does help allot more then a smooth surface.

If you want a 4x4 pan, I have an extra one. 35 bucks with free shipping, its brand new.

Or you could get a pan that held more than either of the above mentioned.

easterisland,

What is that really? A beer cooler? How does it hold up to speed bumps?

That thing is a monster!!!

My performance automatic is a little bit bigger the the B&M, but that thing is HUGE!!! I would be scared with a lowered truck with that thing.

The Hypertech is just absurd bull*****. The B&M is just fine. You don't need a tanker to fill you with ATF and chage you by the fluid-pound.

Thanx for all of the reply's guys, i appreciate all of your input . If anybody else has some input on this i would like to hear it, because i'm still up in the air on that price. Has anyone weighed a B&M verses the stock one or a 4X4 to see if they are saving some weight? Man that Maghytec pan is freakin huge, i would be paranoid all the time of draggin that monster on the ground. Thanx again for all the reply's,
Bill
