How many mods without chip?

I have the following items that need to go on my truck, but I don't have my chip yet (getting on knees and asking that the chip fairy comes soon). Can I put this stuff on without worry of damage or SES lights?

1) 170 degree thermo
2) Volant intake
3) Boost Bypass

Thanks.

you're fine..........the only way you'll "need" a chip is if you start adding boost (i.e. pulleys)

But, then again, you'll feel a difference of night and day with ONLY a chip install..............that's all I have so far, and you can feel a monster difference..........so I'd probably do the chip before all the mods you have listed.....probably cheaper, and definitely more of a noticeable feel

Good luck in either case,
JC

Please try the Volant Intake by itself first and see what, if any difference you feel. I have been intending on ordering one for the past week. According to Odin's Wrath(Roger) there was a noticeable improvement over his open air kits.

Another thing to think about is warranty. My dealer said they have no problem with cold air packages, however chips are another story. They had no problen with deep trans pan gauges or interior seat changes. Just something to consider. Artie

Cold air makes a nice difference. I put mine on a week ago and it is alot faster and it goes off the boost guage!

As far as I'm concerned my warranty is void from the factory. Damn service center sends the truck back each time with 'couldn't reproduce problem'. I have to diag and fix everything on my own anyway (with help of local members of course).

I already have my Bassini on, so I can't test the Volant *totally* stock, but I will try to get it on without anything else and give it a rip.

Don't worry I'll put the box on and try it while Captain Idiot is out on his bike trying his best to break his neck.

What post are you talking about from 'mark'?

The 5th post below yours in this forum is what I was talking about from Mark Clow. I was assuming he had installed the Volant box from the way he was talking.
