SDR was a blast to watch....

However I hate that I didn’t get a chance to meet any of you. I only went on Sunday. I was driving the Silver 02 Lightning with a child seat in the middle! (Yeah I got a lot of weird looks) I got there about 10 min before the White Mustang almost lost it at over 100mph...and left right after 6 (or was it 8) Lightning’s made their passes.
I had hoped to meet some of you but had to leave earlier than expected because my 16 month old got way to much sun faster than my wife or I had expected. We put 50spf on her but I guess small children are just not as tolerant to the sun. Being first time parents it’s odd the things you just don't "know" but after the fact its like 'DUH we should have known better'.....Next time we will.

Anyway when we first got there I did get to make a quick walk through by some of the trucks (and cars) and I have to say I was impressed. ALL of you have nice rides. Who's truck was the Black one that didn't "sound" like a Lightning but was fast as he11?
I even had brought some cash with me to start on my mods (wanted a chip and filter) but even that didn't pan out due to having to leave.

Even though we were only there a short time my family had a good time. This was my little girl's first time to a track and she just loved it!! It was funny, after every run by the 'louder' cars she would take my hands away from her ears and say “vroom daddy” hahaha (I know this is meaningless to those of you without kids but any of you that have children I'm sure can relate)

Anyway I hope next time I will have more time and get to meet a few of you.

For those that couldn't make it you missed a great day! The weather was perfect and the L’s were awesome.

Sorry I didn't get to meet you and your family. We've got a 25 yr. old son--I was the ol' codger with the walkin' cane and a silver 01 L--just ask Rusty.

The black L you asked about was Johnny Lightning's. The 'sound' came from his LT headers and 3" dia. pipes--no cats, no muffler. Even he said it was too loud and that he was putting the Basanni c/b(?) back on. It also has a Kenne Bell s/c, etc., etc..

It was a great weekend except for a couple of 'setbacks, i.e.: Sal's broken valve spring(aftermarket, not stock), the 'big' guys got eliminated(leaving the semi-finals and finals to some of the new guys-this is good & bad news ), DL's misplacing of his L--he never made qualifying because his L had been repossessed by the Toyo tire people , and Rusty's 'cramps' at staging--we'll just have to put him back in the humidor and let him 'age' a little bit more.

Come on back on Friday nights for Test-n-Tune. I'm almost always there along with a few others. Track opens at 5pm--first race at 6 pm. $5 to spectate or $20 to race--as many times as you can line up!

Yeah I noticed the black Kenny Bell Supercharger on my 'walk through' of the pits but didn't no the owner. I also saw the Red L under the Toyo tent, I wandered why a NICE L would be under the same tent as a rice car hehehe (j/k)

I work second shift so Friday nights I am stuck here at work (bored out of my mind) most times but I will come the next Friday night I have off that is for sure! Its only 75miles for me so the drive isn't that bad. 20 bucks is cheap! I used to pay 50 to run PLUS 10 to get in when I raced my Stang. That covered test-n-tune for 3 hours then bracket racing till you lost (you could do two 40 buy backs if you wanted) that's been 3 years ago too! Back problems and finally surgery last July has kept me away from the track for a long time. I feel like its been forever.

Again I wish I would have had time to meat some of you. You all sound like really nice people with a great sense of humor!

I am on my co-workers computer tonight (mine has IT going through it making sure I don't have any 'non-business essential' software loaded.

That's the reason for the username difference I guess he has never posted before but his cookies logged him in.
Anyway thought I would explain the username difference...Its really me

Johnie:

Look me up when you get to SDR. I have a silver 01 with M/Ts on the back.

Masterloggie, Rusty, Ken, cablebandit(2000 WS6), and others may or may not be there too.

The SDR people are really nice to deal with. If you plan to race, you will need long trousers, a shirt with sleeves, and a helmet(for sub-14 sec. passes). If you run 14.xxx, they will allow a passenger to ride with you. Tune your radio to 91.9 FM to hear the announcer.
