The right rear measures 17 1/2" (from wheel center to fender lip) while the left rear measures 18". The fronts measure equally.

The difference isn't very noticable but it bugs me that it's that way. Does anybody know what could cause this and how to correct it?

Bell Tech front springs... 2" drop
Bell Tech rear, leaf spring front hanger with stock shackle

See if the rear sway bar end links look the same. At stock setup the end links are exactly perpendiculer, But mine are not and look angled to the back. I am waiting to put on the adjustible end links. I am wondering if the sway bar setup could cause a slight difference from side to side. I don't know!!

I have already shortened my end links. I cut three inches out and welded them back together with a sleeve over them. They look right.

It sit the same way before I cut the end links.

any other ideas? I'm tempted to loosen all of the suspension bolts on the 'high side' and drive it around the block to see if it settles some. what do you think?

I actually have the same problem, my left rear is about a half inch lower than the right rear. I was told it was my leaf spring, it was bent slightly from a previous accident. So for me I guess its the leaf spring.

That's a good thought but the highest side is the side where the gas tank is.

Keep thinking! There has to be an answer!

I don't know if I would drive it around, but I think loosening all the bolts and standing in the bed and giving it a few "bobs" sure could"nt hurt! This sure seems odd. You know that if you are using the stock rear shackles, you are getting only part of the rear drop. You get 1/2 from the hanger, and 1/2 from the shackle, however, I don't think this has really any thing to do with a side to side variance, but it may affect the rear end link length. If you are using the stock rear shackle, you are not gettig a full 3 inch drop. Also check those center leaf spring bolts. Make sure that one is not hung up where it goes thru the mounting plate at the axle. this might cause a spring to not "seat" properly.

I bet your truck was uneven from the factory too. I think a lot of these trucks lean like that, I bet you just never noticed it before. Have someone sit in the drivers seat and remeasure, and let me know how it measures?

You might be right Don, I wouldn't doubt it for a second but that don't mean it has to stay that way. I need to figure a way to correct it.

I'm getting pretty close to a 3" drop. From Spikes notes on lowering, the stock height is 20 1/4" and mine is at 17 1/2" on the right side. Now if I can get the left side down a half inch, I'll be *****tin in high cotton.

When I had the bell tech shackles on, it was toooooo low. It almost looked like it was squatting in the rear. I moved the spring down to the second hole in the shackle and it didn't seem to affect it at all, measured the same as before. That's why I used the stock hanger.

My '01 L is a little uneven, too. No suspension work done, still stock. The side with the gas tank is almost an inch higher . It's barely noticeable and if anyone asks, I say it's to compensate for my love of pizza when I take tight turns
