ATTENTION: CA Owners with chips
I'm finally ready to do some mods to my truck since the warranty is up. I would like to know if anybody out there has had problems running any tuner chips since we have different gasoline out here.
I actually dynoed my truck at Swanson Performance last Friday. SAE corrected with 383 RWHP with 419 ft/lbs of torque with the dyno tune on a street program for 91 octane. I did not dyno the truck with the race program which is burned for 103 octane. I also had Danny dyno the JL Diablo Street Chip and I only had 323 RWHP and 364 ft/lbs of torque. I felt more power overall with the custom chip, which happened to be tuned with an 11.3/1 air fuel ratio. No detenation in my future

Hey Marcus...I'm heading down to C-Bad this Saturday to try out the new chip and if I do better than last time, you'll probably see me there!

I've been running a Swanson custom chip for 30,000 + miles. Custom dyno tuning is the ONLY safe way to make maximum hp.
My truck made 385 Hp on Danny's dyno with a 2lb pulley, ProM mass air and a Swanson custom chip. All of this on 91 octane winter gas.
I had a littlew detonation, but some injector cleaner cleared it right up. My truck has 47K miles on it now, and has been as reliable as a rock.

I've had 3 tuners chips, all off the shelf, and all had to be sent back and forth for reburns to clear up detonation.
In hindsight I should have opted for a custom tune to begin with. Would have been cheaper
