True Blue 02 with Boss 5.4 Hood (pics inside)

Gang,

Fellow Lightning owner L_Acious stopped by this afternoon with Autometer gauge issues. grrr

Anyhoo, he had a Boss 5.4 hood installed on his Blue 02.

The hood is made by the same company that makes our OEM fitment. Very nice!

The pics speak for themselves.

SMILE!

Thanks for posting the pics Sir Speedin!
Thanks also for the help with the gauges....

I really like this hood, and the fit is outstanding. It will be fully functional before long....

This is an aftermarket hood, made by the same company that makes the F150 hood for Ford. It has NO Ford part number. It is available only through LA WEST conversion company. I got this hood as a very special favor from the owner of the SVT dealership where I purchased my Blu '02. I believe that the hood is now available through LA WEST at around $1000 + shippiing. It comes painted flat black. The fit and workmanship are flawless, and yes, the hood is all metal and very light.

They better lower the price cause every other hood out there is about 1/2 the cost of that one. It is a good looking hood, but it ain't made out of gold.

I went and took a good look at a Boss 5.4 on the lot when I was looking for a hood. I called LA west and got some stupid women that couldn't answer my questions about the hood. I ended up calling stylin concepts out of Independance, Ohio. They have the Reflexxions Cobra hood, which I would swear is the same as the one on the Boss. Mine is getting ready to be painted right now. I will post pics when it is done. The price was $400 plus shipping and it is a steel hood.

L_Acious:

I think you have been misinformed.

I just so happen to work at the FORD plant that makes the all aluminum hood for every F150 out there.

As a matter of fact, thats what we were making today on overtime.

The only hood we make for the f150 is all aluminum -----not the Boss hood.

When is come out in final assembly, that thing is as light as a feather.
