Ya, I bet it is the exhaust system

My truck had a very very slight vibe at 3000 rpm and was barely noticable. Now I have a more pronounced vibration, since the Magnaflow installation. Not a problem though 'cause when I get the new Long tube system bolted up...the Lightning will be vibration free.

I drove an '02 Supercharged HD (which has a true dual system all the way to the back wheel well) this week and this engine was smooth all through the rpm band. On the Lightning, there is simply not enough hanger support to prevent the factory exhaust from shaking things up. When i find time, I plan to raise the cross-over pipe up and remove the mount that is bolted to the tranny cross member to see if this helps.

I think most of the funny noises people complain about are coming from the exhaust system. It has all kinds of strange resonances. Mine had a really nasty sounding chirp that kind of sounded like a squealing pulley or brakes just off idle. I loosened up all the clamps, gave it a good kick, and tightened everything back down. No more chirp.

Anybody notice all the tinkling coming from the cooling cats? Kind of a neat sound...
