Need help fast - installng 160 stat

Hey guys I read that if I drained out a gallon of antifreeze that I would have little spillage. Man I must have lost a gallon or so of antifreeze when pulled the stock one. Any way my little svt manual says to use special ford antifreeze only and not to use extended life antifreeze. And why isn't there a damn radiator cap on the radiator. How do I refill it just keep filling up the side resevoir? Man I don't know who put all those dang brackets on that stat housing. anyway regular antifreeze ok? How to refill? Air bubbles a problem? thanks in advance

I used regular antifreeze when I did mine. Just add the coolant into the resevoir then wait for the thermostat to open and circulate the coolant throughout the engine then add it to the hot-fill line. Check it a few times within the next few days just to make sure your level is OK, like when it is both cool (in the morning) or hot after a drive.

What Soap said..............

and, if you had put a 3/8" vacuum hose on the nipple next to the radiator drain fitting, you could have drained out 1 1/2-2 gals out and just reused it without spilling a drop.
