Paging Spike Engineering

Hey Spike,

Just watched your underhood video, the one with the camera looking at the intake pipe. Really cool video!

I was wondering, what is the flashing light is near the firewall that shows up several times during the vid? And also, did you figure out what all the shaking was about?

Thanks,
Sammy

that also hade me thinking. When I saw a dyno video I think I figured it out. It is the little light, when you open your hood, it goes on. I have no idea why it would come on and off,,but I'm shure someone know's.

I think you are right Phillip! Why didn't I think of that?

I'll bet all that massive acceleration moves the mercury in the switch causing the light to come on!

That can't be good for the bulb!

When Ford was developing the G1 F150, it didn't have a name yet. When they did a similar underhood test on the truck and saw the video footage, it looked like "lightning" flashes. Thus the name "Lightning."

And if you believe that story....

Regarding the vibration. I still don't know what it is. I couldn't feel anything.
