Sometimes at night too many ideas start popping into my head and i just never get to sleap,,, woken up too early for work too many times i guess....

Anyways, I've been thinking real hard about which hood to get. I am hoping to design myself some sort of ram air from the hood, ( not quite like krummer's who i've seen from the hood posting) but its come down to a shaker hood or a cervini ram air. Does anyone have any ideas on these hoods as far as which one would work better for this application. My whole deal for now is to work with perfecting my intake down to the manifold then moving to finish up the exhaust and i've had a lot of ideas that seem good to me in my head, lots of dead ends though but still i keep pulling out my cad software here and messing around with different ways to go about airflow to my engine. If any of that didn't make any sense, i'm sorry, just tough to explain sometimes.

I swear its a disease though, have to make everything connect together just right in my head before i convince myself on it. Always trying to give the truck the right feel for my own good. Even after i decide what to get, most of the time i spend a while figuring out the best way to install and fit things together.

hey,, maybe this is just rambling, but its tough with the truck at the dealership shop right now, but hey, thats why we have this forum,, so that we can ramble on to each other about stuff like this and not the innocent others in our lives

Same thimg going on at the moment! I'm not a big fan of these so called ,cold air kits that suck air from under the hood. The factory box at least draws from the fender but is very restrictive. I have been toying with ideas to mod factory box out and Ram system as well. I've got the hood done.

 

Is that the shaker hood i see in your pic?? I feel it proabably has the best potential unless cervini actually comes out with their own air cleaner for their ram air hood sometime soon. Right now my main roadblock is getting the air fromt he hood to the air cleaner, i know the shaker hood is supposed to do a little of that, but i'm not familiear with the hood at all as i have yet to see it in person. Ii've seen Krummer's and his hood scoop is just too much for what i'm looking for, but he did have a descent under the hood system for getting the air to the filter. I'll have to go find his pics and take a look again to remember everything there was.

As i've said before,,,, nothing worse then an insomniac with a plan and full day of work tomorrow ( Not a true insomniac, just get to sleap at the weirdest hours,,, seemingly no matter what i did for the day. I blame it all on working too hard too many hours but hey, its good for you, plus i like what i do and thats a plus.

You aren't alone, bro. It's 4:00am right now for me. My wife snoars like a WILDEBEAST. My Dog even snoars. Insomnia is practically normal for me.

Anyway- I've been kicking around this hood thing, too. I've been waiting (and waiting) for a hood that I like that isn't on 4000 other L's (or wannabe L's). No luck yet.


Kinda wish someone would bring back the GT-40 style LeMans reverse cowl hood. I always liked that style.
