bolt-on long tubes

what is it that makes the JLP and JDM long tube headers not considered a 'bolt-on' part? Is it because there needs to be modifications to the exhaust tubing to match up to the headers? I know from Bob Tompkins that the O2 sensor wiring needs to be extended and also that there is some minor cutting to notch out a piece of the heat shield for the O2 sensor to connect, but other than that, the headers will more or less bolt right up to the engine right?

Thanks,
Mike

Hey Joe.

Would it be possible for me to come over and check out your long tubes while your installing? Maybe I could help out if you need any.

Hey Mike,
Give Rob a call if you need help. He put his on about a month ago. He could at least talk you through any tough parts.

rdy2rac with: I haven't bought any long tubes yet. Still thinking about whether I need them or not. It's really whether I can afford them right now. As soon as Joe gets his done I want to hear them. I sure I will need some then.
