There are mod friendly dealers out there. Up here in MI where I live, the mechanic that works on my truck is the same age as me (27) and loves to build fast cars. First thing he does is clear all fault codes, then he just happens to overlook the mods. Pretty sweet, if you ask me.

From the SEMA site: "Unless the dealer can prove that the part that failed did so as a direct result of a part you installed, he is obligated to fix it under warranty. " (end excerpt)
If you overboost, and destroy your motor, yes, it's on you. But they can't simply void your *entire* warranty because you have a chip, as much as a lot of dealers would like you to believe.
Here's a good resource if you've been given grief by a dealer over mods: http://www.enjoythedrive.com/content/?id=8124
One final note - you'd be amazed at how fast a dealer will change their tune when you turn up the heat on them.
Thanks for the great info.I was just asking because alot of people wait to mod and I just could not understand why they wait.It seems like more will go wrong the longer you have a car so why wait.
