need another cartridge for your stock 6 disc changer?

i remember a couple of people wanting a extra cartridge for the stock lightning cd changer.
i swapped to a aftermarket setup, and found out that clarion makes the factory cd changer, and the stock cartridge will work in my aftermarket clarion cd changer, and vice versa..

here they are side by side:

and here is the model number: CAA-355

you can these cheaper than the factory cartridge from your local stereo shop, or online.. like crutchfield.com and ect..
or do a online search for the model number and see what turns up..

Does Clarion also make the head unit, or is it a genuine 'Built Ford Tough' unit?

Clarion makes a good majority of the ford radios/cdchangers. With that said though them make them incompatible with aftermarket clarion or other manufactures (but some people make adaptors for adding some things)

When I had to get a replacement, I found that if you go to a Lincoln/Mercury dealership, the price for the CD cartridge was about $10-$15 cheaper than the same part number at a Ford dealer. Don't know why. But now that I know it's a Clarion unit, I should be able to get a spare WAY cheaper than even the Lincoln piece.

Thanks for the tip!!!
