Anyone have the post on engine bay cleaning?

After my wreck and my truck sitting at the body shop for 3 weeks, the engine bay collected a nice layer of crap that I need to clean off. I went out and bought a nice container of Simple green to use tomorrow. Any tips on how to wash and what to avoid and what to use to keep the black parts shiny?

I sprayed down the engine copartment lightly, squirted simple green on directly everywhere, then rinsed and tryed, looks incredible, everything is black as black

I use Simple Green sprayed everywhere. Rinse it off with LOW pressure water. Once the engine is about dry (I drive mine to heat it up and dry it), I use a 50/50 mix of Armor All and water and spray it everywhere. The water cuts the Armor All down so it is not sticky at all, and the water evaporates, leaving it all clean looking and shiny, but not glossy shiny like the oil based tire dressing. I am going to do mine again next weekend, I will post a picture after it is done.

Avoid the coils! They do not form a tight seal over the spark plugs. Water easily accumulates in plug recess and causes misses.
