porting and polishing
porting and polishing
Ok,, i've done much reading recently on the benefits of porting and polishing the intake manifold/ throttle body/upper plenum. I have to say i have a few questions. Recently i have a lead on a very good machinist who does lots of high pro work. I would love to have some work done on my engine and was wondering if any of you could give me any info on the best parts to get ported and polished or honed. So far the only thing i've heard of is the throttle body.
Also i've seen a picture of the intake tube on babolts truck and was wondering if he actually sells that, i'd bet that would greatly help airflow after the air filter and was wondering where i could find something like that. Right now i use a 12 inch filter intake kit from LFP and love the added blower whine i hear from having it on but i'm not convinced at on how much hp any of the filter kits add.
So,, any info on this is greatly apreciated, i'd like to go to the engine guy with a little more info on the best ways to go about the benefits of getting parts in our particular engine ported/polished/honed.
Please forgive me if i use some incorrect terms in my post hear, although i do know some about engines, no where near as much as i'm sure some of you know.
Thanks,

BABolt,,, caught your site today,, looks great, If you've got a shop around town it would be great to stop by and take a look at the truck. Dont know how good of an idea it would be though, might come home with a few less kidneys and more horses then i started with.
