I sent the seller an email. If he responds and I'm close enough, I will go see it first hand. Below is my email to him.

Hi,

Where in NC is Roush? I want to come and look at the Lightning engine before I bid on it. Is it still in the truck, will it run?

Tim

I'm betting he won't reply.

His area code is 28401, that's Wilmington NC. There are banks and such all over Wilmington. A College campus without mail delivery, give me a break!

Actually, 3 days ago I sent the seller an e mail stating I was looking for and engine to build up for my Lightning and simply asked why his engine didn't look like mine.

i sent an e mail to him today asking for serial # and Build date. Anyone think I'll get a response?

This is like a post on NLOC about an exhaust that gets 50-75 HP for only 3000.00

These are among the few things that pee me off.

thepawn, i would have done that if I taken the time to figure out how. I really think E bay need to monitor these obvious Fraudulent Auctions.

The picture of the engine is not showing for me. Just a box with an x in it. Can anyone else see it?

Daniel,

Ebay doesn't make it easy to contact them, that's for sure. I've had some issues to deal with through them and it's unpleasant, to say the least, to contact them. They don't give a *****.

Tim, I don't think he can tell you where Roush, N.C. is. Mapquest can't find it, and neither can Google. Don't know how you found his zip code, but there's no Roush in that location, either. This kind of s**t really ticks me off. Wish someone would track the varmint down, and deal with him like the vermin he is.

alphadoggy,

No response from him yet. I'm going to send another email telling him that I will definately buy the engine, pay cash, and pick it up myself. If he's legit at all he'll reply to that, wouldn't you think.

Another thing, look below at his wording. I copied and pasted from the auction.

The chassis was the only thing damaged, but it definitely would cost too much to repair the car rather than sell everything and buy a new truck.
Chassis was only thing damaged, and he's parting it out? Cost to much to repair the car?? What up with that??

No flames here, but who in the heck would want a Lightning engine?

Think about this for a moment!

How many people out there get smoked by an L and run around e-bay trying to buy a L engine?

I bet not many!

Now if the savly(sp) SOB get's smoked by an L.... is he going to look into a 800lb ~500hp 5.4(sc)?

Or would he just go the easy way and get a built mustang(sc) 700hp for much less and in the long run one with more capabilities.

I think this e-bay thing is just a one off.

Now betting on when this dino of a post will die.:o

Still no response to my email. I sent another.

If you are a legitimate seller you will respond to this request. I would like to see the engine. Your zip code indicates you are in the Wilmington area and I'm prepared to travel today.
