Question ROUSH on a 2000?

I just got off the phone with ROUSH today, I was going to order their springs for my 2000.

They told me over the phone they don't recommend their springs for 2000+ year Lightnings (only 99's), because they have a problem with clearance/bottoming out with the drop from the rear leafs.

Does anyone here have the ROUSH springs on a 2000 truck? I know there are a few that have them on 99's.

I'd like to find out what the deal is, because I was going to order those, but looks like I may have to go with Hotchkis now.

Didn't know there was a difference between the '99 & '00 except the mirrors and other cosmetics. I beleive someone at Roush is wrong. Good luck getting someone at the prestigious almighty Roush to admit it.
If they don't want your money...............call Eibach, they know more about springs anyway.

The sun don't rise and fall at Roush's door

lol, thanks RF...

Are the Eibach springs for the Lightning geared for racing or just a drop kit?

Not sure. Call them, they can do anything you want (with enough cash anyone can actually).

I don't know what I was thinking. The Roush springs are most likely made by Eibach anyway.

I know of (2) local L's running the Roush Suspension. (1) is a 01' and the othere is a 00' or 99'. Go to ******.com, 01' is DJAnimate, 00' is 2fast4u.

I don't think they ever had a problem and like the suspension a lot.

I wanna say BABolt has them on one of his trucks ['99/'00] or both. Memory is starting to go.

I have roush suspension on my 2001. I can't tell you how it performs because I haven't driven it yet(with the roush suspension). I'll let you know in a couple of months. I have a fiberglass bedcover on the back and the stock bump stops are about 2"'s from the axle(street scene hidden hitch, no spare, no rear bumper, no gas tank, no ratchet for winding up rear tire, no tranny or engine).

I know for a fact now that my 2000 year rear bump stops are alot shorter then the 2001 bump stops.

Easter -- Did you order just the springs? If so, from where? ROUSH keeps telling me over the phone they don't sell it without the shocks, which I dont' need.

Wink

Pawn...I don't think I'd be asking Easter, he seems to have misplaced a few things on his truck!

Daniel,
I have / had the Roush springs on both of my Lightnings. I did not use the Bilstein shocks, as I did not care for them. Never a problem as they both drove great. In fact I have never had a warranty claim against either. I just sold the 2000.

KGM, I locked it up nice and safe one night...j/k

Pawn, I bought my kit used for $625 last month. The bilstein shocks were new and never used. Check the classifieds. Some stuff is cheap.

Mike,

Can you shoot me the info (thepawn@atlantis.edu) where you picked up the springs from? ROUSH won't sell me just the springs over the phone, I've tried 4 calls now. :P

Now I'm interested to see how Mike responds. I remember several posts on this topic from a couple years ago...
