Was I dreaming.....

I took a friend out for a ride and was showing what the L had. As he is grabbing the "OH $**t" handle, I looked at the boost and it was pegged at 10. Is this possible with just the K & N filter? I have had it in for a couple of weeks, but I drive my L every day and try to treat her kindly. I had not pushed the L hard until yesterday. I was suprised at the effect it had on the boost. I am still not sure if I was seeing things.

I'm still stock and see it pegged in the black every now and then. he he
Seriously though, most people say the stock guages are way off, and nowhere near accurate. I just say have fun.

The stock guages are all over the place. Mine with a K&N filter occasionally would "peg" the guage to the black (point straight up), now with my mods, I think I need another guage flipped over on the black

Mine now will sometimes point to the tach, i.e. almost horizontal in the black!!! It is rare, but I have seen it do it a couple of times!

WEEEEEEEE!!!!!

Stock gauge is worthless. My truck with exhaust, intake kit, and chip, crosses 10 PSI on my autometer gauge near redline at WOT. It never went much past 8-9 on the stock gauge. If you really want to know what your truck is doing, put a gauge on it.

Before the filter, I only saw the gauge read 8 at most. Just did not think the filter would help that much.

Question

Saw a pic with a Phantom boost gauge on a Lightning. It looked real clean, almost OEM. So I have some questions for those of you using those puppies. Are they accurate? How high do they go? Where do you get them? How much do they cost? How difficult are they to install?

Hate to say it but my stock gauge could be pegged, Autometer only goes to 8psi. Guess I have to believe the Autometer.
