Bed Cover

My 2001 lightning came with the optional soft type bed cover which has no support frames beneath it. Is it supposed to have something of that sort to keep from sagging? Once when it rained and my lightning was parked, it got pretty full of rain water, and kind of stretched it a little. Is this normal?

There is supposed to be 2 bars to help support that cover. One is about 4 inches shorter than the other one, and they are spring loaded in one end. There are two indentions they fit into on each side of the bed rail. When I got my truck, the cover was crammed behind the seat with both bars. They both were the same length, and 1 would not fit. I went back to the dealership, and we (myself and the salesman) stole the right bar from another lightning parked on the lot. Boy, did we get some looks from a couple of other salesmen. They didn't like that! I then had to go back to get an antenna as the original's ball on top fell off. At first I thought, OH WELL, but this dealership had pushed the wrong buttons already with a couple of other things. When I went back, my salesman wasn't there and this really sweet lady salesperson was helping me. She said, let's just go get another one off another lightning on the lot. The sales manager hit the roof when he heard this. He said, no go get one off that focus out there. I said NO WAY, I am not paying for a focus, I paid for a lightning, and I wanted all lightning parts!!! (I know all the antennas are the same, but it was the principal of the thing). To make this long story short Go Get the right parts, and make sure they don't ORDER them or get some other make do parts!!

My dealer agreed to supply the bed cover support rails that were not with the lightning when I bought it. I received them UPS and opened the box to find three arched round bed cover supports. Each one has a spring loaded end.
The problem is I only have two notches on each of my cover side rails, and the supports that they sent are about 2-3 inches too long.
Now I get to send the supports back and try to figure out how to identify the proper TWO that I need.
