Hello all,

I'm a fairly new "L" owner and was just wondering if there was a NC "L" club? and if not why? also I read a post earlier in the week about Kinston, is that still happening and if so when. Like I said I'm a "newbie" but this is an awesome forum and there seems to be a wealth of info here along with a great bunch of guys and gals. I never new when I bought the "L" I was in for such a ride.

Where are you at in nc? I dont have my L any more, but i know about 5 or 6 people around that do.

 

I don't know of there's a club in NC or not. Maybe ICULOKN can tell you about Kinston, he seems to be the resident expert on the subject.

What part of the state are you in? Charlotte here.

 

As far as I know there is no NC lightning club. There are quite a few around this area though. Y2kbolt and Jefflaws live in Kinston. Me, Koochie Krook, and aquaman live in Raleigh. Then there is quite a few guys that live around the Charlotte area, and a few that live toward the coast.

 

I'm not sure of a club down here but I've seen plenty of potential members especially around the Triad area.....

Welcome aboard 2Ford2. No club that I'm aware of. As for Kinston, tomorrow they are having a motorcycle event along with the test n' tune, 1-6 pm. I believe that next week Kinston goes to Thursday nights T&T for the remainder of the racing season. No more Sat. T&T till like November or December. Maybe we can meet up one Thurs. night over there and get some of the Raleigh guys to come.

I am over on the coast in New Bern. I am really interested in catching a Thurs. night test and tune at Kinston. I've not raced at a strip before so I am anxious. I almost went to the local 1/8th mile track Thurs. for T&T. I would like to get a baseline time before adding any more go power

dude, please dont't go to the new bern/bridgeton track, at least for your first time. you know what they say about first impressions and you dont want that track to be it, lol.

 

Are you talking about the one in Hertford. If so you will probably like it a little better than kinston. I have been to both, and let me tell you, hertford has a lot better setup and alot neater than kinston. The one in kinston is kinda junked and jumbled up. Although you might be able to get a little better traction at kinston than hertford cause there has been more rubber layed down there over the years. Btw I raced my L in hertford last fall a few times and was able to get good traction off my stock tires just by letting a little air out of them.

 

Guys Come on, there has to be more of us NC L's out there. I would love to meet with you guys to do a little import or mustang or etc... BUTTKICKING. How it is now I have to drive to Cecil Co. Maryland to have a good lightning meet. I plan to go see my mentor Johnny Wiker of JL in a few weeks. I really like the guys up there and abroad, however lets get something going to take up my time before I get 100,000 miles on my L before its time!!!!!!!

Ah, Junior Johnson country! It's pretty up there, I used to go to the Wilkesboro races when the track was used by nascar.

I might have seen you around Charlotte. Do you ever go to Mooresville Dragway?
