Question Aftermarket Convertor

I am just curious how an aftermarket convertor differs from our stock one. What exactly does it do to make our trucks run stronger. I read something that it "gets the truck in the powerband faster". Well how does it accomplish that.

Another thing........what is the stock convertor 1500 rpm???

TIA......Joe

Go here and check out the FAQs. Tons of info . . .

www.converter.com (PI)
www.converter.cc (Yank)

Yank (look under Brands/Ford) just came out with a sweet TC for our trucks at a great price . . .

speaking for convertors, when i do have mine pulled on friday, does anyone know of a place a can send my old one, i want it to be taken apart and see what was falling apart, it rattles whenever it wants to and i what to know if it is just a broken weld or if it has been sending small fragments into my trans fluid..
i dont care if i get it back, so if someone knows the internals if a convertor and wants to disect a ford convertor, let me know....
