I wrote a thread yesterday about noise at and above 3000 RPM. Sound comes from engine in any gear,loud,almost like a lean condition. I have a 1999 L with 90 mm MAF,oil breather,Chip,01 I/C,and "monster" tranny f/ftech. Anyone have any ideas?

 

define "lean condition".

is it pinging?

Pretty tough to diagnose base on that information. Could be anything from the blower, motor, trans, rearend, etc. Might just be increased blower noise from an open element filter. What did you change right before the noise started? Might want to try removing your latest mods and see if it goes away. Remove one at a time the drive it.

 

Thanks for replies. I will backtrack by removing mods one at a time. I will re-post at a later datewhen I am done.
