I posted a few months ago about my Xenarc upgrade. I really appreciate the difference it made in night driving. The light pattern is well developed with excellent side to side coverage as well as in front. The kit is extremely well designed, & the whole installation took 30 minutes. Pull the tabs up & remove the stock headlight capsules, plug the existing wire harness into the Sylvania harness, plug the new harness onto the HID capsule & reinstall it. Then mount the clip-on relay package & connect the provided wires to the battery cables. And lastly, the relays are setup so that the Low Beams stay on with the High Beams, as do the foglights if you have them on. The color is very white with a slightly blue tint, not as blue as those in my ML55AMG, but just as good from behind the wheel.

Just FYI on HID's:

The bluer, the colder, less lumens. The whiter light will put out more light output then the bluer ones from the AMG.

FWIW,

I have been talking with Sylvania's PR people and they may be willing to make a kit available for testing and review...I posted their press release on the product in the news section...keep an eye out for a potential "free" kit in the near future.

So this Xenarc kit is a direct drop-in replacement for the stock lenses and bulbs? No cutting or splicing? You only have to run a wire to the battery, right?

How is the vertical cutoff pattern? Is it very sharp? Will I still be able to blind people in Miatas when I pull up behind them at night?

That is correct, drop in with no splicing, cutting, etc.! Uses original harness connectors, they plug into the provided harness. You have a pre-wired harness that runs across the top of the radiator shroud & connects to both original light plugs, then plugs into the HID capsules. This same harness has a built-in relay package with a clip built on that snaps into a factory slot beside the radiator on the passenger side. The only wiring required is to connect the provided harness to the battery with 2 wires that come out of the harness on the battery side.
The pattern has a very broad side to side pattern & a very sharp vertical cutoff. The HID casules have the same design adjustment screws as the faactory lights. The High Beam bulb is an H9, not HID, but the lows stay on with the highs. And you'll find little need to use high beams.

They work really well. The width of the beams, especially close to the truck is exellent.
Getting them aimed was a bit of a pain.

For guys who have them, how did you aim them, especially the side to side adjustment, I had to remove them from the truck and turn the little plastic nuts and reinstall. I had nothing that would turn those 4mm adjusters that are so deep down in the header panel.

You do get some looks from people when they see a "pickup truck" with HIDs on them. And yes, you can blind anyone from behind at stop signs or traffic lights.

Not to be a d#$#, but yes you can get them super cheap, (read... free) if you waited for as long as I did and got the run around from their customer "service" people.
