Post Hello Everyone.

Hi everyone, I am new to the site. I figured I would sign up and meet all my fellow Lightning onwers. I have a Black 2001 Lightning. I am 18 years old and am a transmission rebuilder. My brother has a white 2001 also. My mods are a ProTorque Converter 2400 Stall, JDM air filter setup, JDM electric fan kit, and a superchip by JDM. Best time is 13.006@104. Should be in the 12's once my chip is reburned. Well I am looking forward to meeting some new people. -Mat-

Welcome to the family, Mat.

Yeah, there some wise guys around here but they mean no harm, just having fun. What good is all this if we can't have fun?

I don't mind wise guys. After a day of work we all need to come home and laugh. Well so far you all seem like a nice bunch of guys and girls if there are any. I am suprised with the quick responses already. Thanks. -Mat-

That's cool that your L is(going to) be in the 12's running the stock pulley/boost.

Thumbs up

I sure hope it does. I don't see why it won't once the chip and reburned. Once I make the 12 second club I am gonna go with the 4LB lower pulley and maybe a set of tractions bars. I also failed to mention I am running the Nitto 305/45/18 555R Extreme Drags. But hopefully the 12's are a weekend away. -Mat-

Welcome aboard matt - I've been a member for about 2?months now and enjoy every minute I spend on here. Sometimes it is more exciting watching the bullsh*t hit the fan and fly all over the room, than anything else!! :o Sometimes it does start to smell; but in the end it cleans up nicely!
j/k - everyone on here rocks!
The most valuable place on the internet.

Quick ? : Can you drive you L on the street with a 2400 RPM stall converter? I'm somewhat ignorant to this; but do you have to hit 2400 r's in order to go anywhere?

take care,
john

Don, Shelton is in Southwestern CT near Bridgeport(that is where our tranny shop is located) in Fairfield County. Where abouts is New England Dragway>??? I have ussually go to englishtown and went to Lebanon(spelling) Valley in NY once with one of the Buicks. I would be more then glad to come up and meet some Lightning owners. Let me know when you guys head out. -Mat-

John, My Lightning is still very "streetable." You don't need to hit 2400RPMs to get moving but you can feel the difference that you have push down to get going but it is not big. It has no traction when you get on it but you can still drive it and have fun blowing by people. HeHe. Maybe a set of traction bars could help>??? But yes you can drive on the street all day lond with it. -Mat-

Sweet. My first mod (if you want to call it that) is going to be the tranny. It kicks now; but I want to feel a cannon going off with every shift

thanx,
jp
