oil/coolant routing

I have a question as to why the coolant lines are routed as they are. Do they cool off the oil? Is there another way you guys are routing the coolant lines to get rid of this mess or does everyone just leave it alone? If you do route differently do you add an oil cooler?

Okay, I went to the local Ford dealer and figured out the difference. We have an oil cooler. The Superduty trucks have the same set-up that we do. All of the 4wd and 2wd F150's didn't have the cooler.
How much cooler does that make the oil and would it be better to use the setup from the normal F150 along with a standard oil cooler. It seems the current setup would heat up the coolant fast.
I also want to use a remote adapter to hook up an accusump. It may be easier to do this with the regular F150 no-cooler adapter plate.

Another question does the oil cooler need to be replaced in the event of an engine malfunction which caused lots of metal to be trapped inside of the cooler fins?

Sorry to interrupt, it looks like u were having your own little conversation and post here.

just my opinion but i would change the cooler, probally for a more effecient one while im at it, if metal fragments were in the oil it would be safer to swap out as much as possible, if it were a thin liquid like coolant i would say a flush would be good enough, but with the density of oil and or trans fluid it would be inpossible to flush it out enough to get all the lost fragments..

but again just my opinion..
