There have been a few done that can handle the torque. You can buy a bullet proof jag cneter for around 5 grand.Use it in the ac kit car. Also there is a 9 inch unit out there that converts to IRS.The problem comes in getting the sensor ring.Since neither have that or has had that you would custom make one.[have thought about that too]But can not get the info that I need to make it work.IE.does the sensor count the time or the teeth?Stan

I can answer that. The sensor counts the teeth. In other words, the diameter of the wheel doesn't matter. Just get the gaps right and keep the same number of teeth and you'll be fine.

I was thinking that but,for it to count the teeth it has to have one tooth that is different otherwise it does not know when to start counting. What is different about the one tooth?I have both the 8.8 and 9.75 toothed ring and can NOT see any difference.any help would be appreciated.Stan

I thought it was timing. If it was tooth count wouldn't everything stay the same if you change tire diameter?

Maybe Mike will chime in how he got the 8.8 to work in his IRS setup?

You're thinking of the timing wheel on the engine. It has one tooth missing so that it knows where the pistons are at any given moment. The gear on the axle is only used for vehicle speed. The processor doesn't need a missing tooth to start counting the teeth. It just counts every "up" edge (or is it down edge, I forget).

Axle ratio or tire size changes can be compensated for with calibration. I think an NGS can reflash the processor for this.

Tuners?
