Got a couple of ideas.... Need thoughts...

Well as you know I am planning to make my L a real play toy..

Today I found a wrecked Silver 01 with 8,000 Miles for $14k. It is hit in the back and can be fixed. I am not to sure about the title or not but what I am planning to do I may not need one anyways. I could always get a custom car title, you only need 30% of the original frame to do that...

I am wanting to build a bad truck, with a cage & custom paint. Should I do this to my 30K+ truck or since I am going to remove alot of the stuff to paint it anyways do it to a $14K one??

If I do the wrecked one I can then buy me a nice toy vehicle and be able to run ALOT of tha major events!!!

Thoughts??

Do it to the wrecked one. That one is already gonna sell for less because of the wreck. You truck hasn't been wrecked and if you custom it out it will sell for less than a stock one. Thats just my 2cents worth. You also have to remember i sell cars so i'm always thinking about resale value.

I personally would sell your 01 L and put the money towards the project or whatever else. I know it would be a lot of work to get a wrecked truck back in shape but hey you are planning a major project anway so whats the difference

Depends on how hard it was hit. $14k is too much in the wholesale market for a wreck.

For a project the wreck sounds like a better plan. You can cut tons of weight out of it with no worries.

The wrecked one would be the better choice I think. That way, if for some reason you had to sell your good one, you won't be out more money than you already are for your project truck.

I'd use the wrecked L for the all-out race vehicle. That way you won't have to make sacrifices for streetability or raceability. It would be pretty cool to see a low 12-second L towing a 10-second L to the racetrack too

Yeah I would love to keep my current L and get the wrecked one. I drove the wreck one today, It drives straight and only really needs some back frame work, a complete bed, paint on some parts, and wheels. The cab is fine the front bumper is scratched, the hood has a dent, but I will change that anyways. I want to do some custom paint as well. I am going to put my current L up for sale I guess. I have told the guy I will pick this one up next week..... I don think that is to bad for $14K, he is checking on the title now....

Use wrecked L for a track only warrior and use your truck to tow it

I think it will be better to have a Expy or something as a tow vehicle. I can make this wrecked L look as good or better than the one I have now. I would love to be able to keep it but I need something with some room and better towing for long track visits...
