Cleaning Soft Cover

My cover is starting to look a little dull, and I was wondering what you guys put on your soft covers. The first thing that comes to mind is Armor All, but it seems like after a rain it would leave streaks down the sides of the truck. Any better ideas?

Sportsmasters makes or sells a special product just for this application

I use No-Touch

It is like Armor All but in a spray can.Gives a nice shine with VERY little streaking.Actually if you rub it in with a paper towel then no streaking at all and only takes a minute to do.Shine last about a week.

I use armor all on mine, sprayed on then wiped with a rag. I haven't experienced the streaking after a rain, as mine hasn't been driven or sit in the rain. I wouldn't think the armor all wouldn't hurt anything when it got on the paint, and also wouldn't you want to wash the truck anyway after a rain? It would be all streaked and dirty from the road grime anyway.

I just tried Eagle One tire gloss on mine, I use the 1 in the black aersol (sp) can, I use that for the tires and the cover now. Armor All has never touched my truck and no spray other that Furniture pOlish has touched my dash

I think I'm gonna give the Afro Sheen a try!

Walker: You put furniture polish on your dash? Pledge? I don't think furniture polish has stuff added for UV protection, though. It may work well, but I have just never heard of doing that before...

Yep, works great , I just do not feel like that Armor All UV crack. check out the detailing forums. this has been done for years. And yes pledge. LEMON FRESH. I just do not believe in putting a greasey tire coating on my dash. and Pledge does have mild oils in it that will soak into your dash. less dust also.

I installed a Ford soft cover on my truck about a month ago and I remember it saying something in the paper work about not using Armor-all on them.

Figures,

Mine was on it when I bought it new, but I haven't seen any paperwork about the care of it specifically. I know one thing, it collects dust something fierce with armor all on it!!!

Maybe Pledge would work well on the cover, too! That stuff does have some kind of dust repellant.

Yea, I guess if some people are using it on the vinyl and plastic on the inside, I guess it wouldn't hurt the vinyl outside, huh? I wonder if it would shine like armor all?

the no touch is nice because there is no residue to spread(running down the side)and it doesent attract dust, also if it gets wet it repels the water like wax so there are no spots at all once it dries,i owned only trucks for the almost 20 yrs ive been driving and each one has had a tonnue cover ive tried everything on them but havent found anything that works as well as a tire dressing spay foam

P.S. has anyone spelled tonnue cover correctly yet???http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?va=tonneau

Why wouldn't you use armor-all? I use it on the inside once a month, and spray it on the cover, and wipe away when done. I drive it daily, and never get streaks down the side. It always has a cute shine to it
