Had new series 40's installed today now my L sounds sick. What type setup are you guys using with them to get them to sound good.

Did you get an X pipe with the flows? If not, what you have is two separate 4 bangers giving you the sick sound. Just a thought.

Most use a Bassani Cat-Back or a Magnaflow mufler.

I am a loyal Flowmaster person, but I called them to find the application for mine and they flat out said don't do it, we have nothing that will sound ggod on that truck. So I didn't get anything - yet. I'm kinda lost now as to what to get because I want good sound.

Highvoltage,
well unless he does something to them monday to make it sound better, they will come off. Be glad you didn't get them. My L sounds like an old buick with clogged cats.

HIVOLTAGE,

Depending on your wallet depth, Bassani, Magnaflow or SpinTech make great sounding L exhuasts. Just be sure to get the X pipe or the two in two out exhaust system to balance the sound and keep low end torque.

Fireguy,

I hear what your saying, and if the sound don't improve I'll go with the magnaflow, and I'll have 2 flow's to get rid of. I did end up with some good looking stainless tips and a good sounding truck at "idle"

2Ford2,

Glad to hear it wasn'r all bad news. From what I understand, good looking tips are a worhtwhile investment. It is just too bad we can't go real fast with the idle sound.
I hope it works out for you, I don't hink getting a buyer for the flows will be hard, they are quite popular out here on all the slow chevy pickups.
