Question

Now Andy, why in the ****ens would you want to put all that junk on a tow truck? Surely you're not thinking of taking that dinosaur out on the race track, are you?

Change is good. Expensive is the new tig setup. Looks like it should work. Now to see if I can get that spare back in there

Thumbs up

That looks like a nice set-up.

I've been studying alot about various axle location devices, and yours looks really good. I am seriously considering a set-up like that. I had a track link kit on my last mustang and WOW what a diffrence it made!! Most folks in the know say that panhard setups are the preferred way to go. I have some questions for you:
What is the biggest change you noticed in the feel/behavior of the vehicle?
Some say the rear feels more solid, others say it feels like it is too stiff and you can't feel the road as well.

Also, the clearance between the driver's side leaf spring and the vertical support bar looks kinda tight. . .do you think there is enough room over there for a slapper type traction bar like the Lakewood or Truck Traks to fit or is it too tight?

Later,

The biggest was that it got cold outside. Wind chill 17 deg.

Sererously I did the traction bar bracket last weekend. As an after-thought, we added the panhard brackets to it. RoadRash put together the the triangle setup and sent me a photo. I just posted it. Neather of us have any seat time in the truck to have a real opinion. The truck in the photo will be getting a traction link on the exhaust side once we figure out a way to get there. I bet we will think of something. We will keep you posted.

Andy

P.S. There is no such thing as a properly located axle that gives less feel.

Wink

Just for note, RobG has a painted differential.

Nice setup, let us know how it feels.

About 6" between leaf and vertical support. I used exsisting holes in the frame to mount. Hard to tell about the ride with the cold front that moved in. Initial impressions are positive. No binding, full vertical travel.
My truck will never look as good as RobGs'
