How Low Can You Go?
I'm looking for a drop kit for my 2001. Belltech only offers a kit that I see of 2"x2". I'm looking for something a little more drastic.I have seen pictures only.I can't find anything. Can you guys please help me with photos and details on your suspension modifications? Thanks, much appreciated!
i think most would agree when i say the lowest you should go is 3/4. to achieve a real 3/4 instead of a 2/4 which is what youll get with the belltech 3/4 you will need new lower control arms. DJY1 im sure will chime in and answer all your questions about a true 3/4
online store 3/4 kit :

My understanding about the Bell Tech kit offered in the store is that it is intended for an F-150. since we are already lowered 1" all around it only workes out to be a 2/3. if you want something much lower than that...you may be talking custom. airbags would be the way to go, you can put it on the ground if you want

The 3/4 kit offered in the F150Online Store will get a Lightning 2/4 of realized altitude adjustment.
If you want 3" up front, you'll have to do control arms.
The 2/3 drop from the 3/4 kit is absolutely perfect, IMO.

I would agree with the general consensus. . .
2/3 is the lowest I would go if you want to retain/gain handling.
Visually, I agree with TampaSVT. 3/4 is just about right, although the ride & handling ability may decline a bit, unless you go with full tilt racing equipment.
Lower than that you are talking air bag systems and such, and it becomes basically a rolling show truck at that point.
Truckin' and Sport Truck magazines are good sources of info regarding vendor's and systems of that nature, or at least they'll let you know what to expect as far as components (compressors, air tanks, modifications, controllers, etc.)
Good luck,

I appreciate all your helpful input! I am now going to consider the 3/4 which will actually give me 2"F/3"R correct? I see on Belltech site code#'s virtually identical to standard f-150. That is because we are already lowered. I guess 2" is significant.Once again thnks for all your help!
