Observations during and after plug swap

I swapped out my stock plugs with NGK TR6's and I was wanting to post somethings I noticed and asked if anyone else did the same.
During: First off, I only changed 7 out of 8 since we could not get to the dirver's side rearmost plug. My stock plugs looked good except for it looked like the truck was running pretty rich which I sort of expected.

After: First thing I noticed was a more responsive throttle. Second I noticed their seemed to be alot more power, I knew their was a very slight bit of power to be had when replacing plugs but this was really noticeable. Thirdly, I got much worse gas mileage on my return trip home than the way their (No I wasn't getting on it, just set the cruise and went). Could this be due to the computer needing to relearn everything since we disconnected the power during the process? I thought it could also be a misfire but their is no way considering it is running like a champ.

Any one else notice any of these things? My mods are as listed if anyone was wondering. Thanks, Later.

What were the gaps on your stock plugs vs. the new plugs? I believe a wider gap will enhance your mpg, so if the new ones have a smaller gap...............

Plugs don't(by themselves) add or give more HP unless there was something wrong with the old plugs. Yes, many have noticed a better throttle responce. The battery disconnect shouldn't have affected the mpg--IMHO.

It took me 1 hour each on #4 and #8(the one you didn't change).

I am pretty sure the old (stock) plugs had a gap of .044 just like the NGK's I put in. Their may have been something wrong with the old one's but I couldn't tell, maybe I will post some pics and you guys can tell me what you think. I will keep a close eye on my MPG. The power increase may be a mental thing who knows.
On another similar note, how snug is "snug enough" for the plugs, I mean how tight is 20ft/lbs? I didn't have a torque wrench, and even if I dd I doubt I could have manuvered it in their. I am just worried about the thought of a plug blowing out. Thanks for all the help.

20 ft/pds isnt very much. Don't worry, if you have one backing out you will hear what sounds like an exhaust leak for a while before it blows out. I heard that sound for about a month before tightening the stock plugs.

According to Sal(and others, I'm sure), run them down snug/finger-tight and then 1/16th of a turn more . Remember, there are only 4-5 threads holding the plugs in an aluminum head--don't get them too tight.
