Astroworld, Truck Show, and The Purge...

Six Flags Astroworld invited the Texas Chapter of F150world.com to have the trucks come into the park and have a truck show. So I spent the day haveing fun at Astroworld and seeing all the trucks. We missed out of getting the 3rd place trophy by two points (Patrick! ). But all in all it was a great day though the weather wasn't too great.

But as part of showing our truck, of coarse you have to show off the purge... We put the nitrous back on the truck for the new motor, just to have the purge in the truck show. A guy got some killer pictures for me and was kind enough to send them to me (Thanks Michael!).

Well, lets put it this way. If you don't purge before get to the line, an hammer it on green. Bye-Bye Motor.

Actually no, there is a reason to it. But I came up with the idea to make it cool. When the nitrous sits in the feed line, it will expand into a gas. While this gas will creat power, you get more out of the liquid in the bottle. So you purge to get the gas out and the liquid to the silinoid so you get a quicker and harder hit of the nitrous. The white smoke it the liquid hitting the out side air and decompressing into a gas.

purging the lines is used to fill the lines of the n2o system with liquid n2o If the liquid n2o sits in the lines for more than a few minutes it will turn to a gas state and does not provide as much power as the liquid n20. I used to run a nos system on my 99SS and did not purge it because I liked the softer hit of the n20 in a gas state so I did not spin the tires as hard
