That's ok
Just remember that you never know the tallent and experiance of the guy at the other keyboard. It's best to type lightly and carry a big smile.
Good engineers are the ones that can recognize and utilize a good idea, even when it came from someone else.

So, we're going to the local salvage yard ...
Since most of us don't want to sound too stupid when the guy behind the counter says, "What do you need ...!!??" The best thing to have in your hand is the part number, model and best years of vehicles that fan and it's components came out of ... right?!! That exact list is what we need.
Andy, you sound like the guy who is most qualified to provide that list of components for a Top Quality, Sanitary Fan Install.
Another thing that I think is important: If you state that you want ALL of the wiring, switches, screws, bolts, fuses, controls, clips and other parts ... you will probably stand a better chance of getting everything you need. If you just ask for the fan .... well, that's about all you will get ... with the wires cut off just about where it goes into the thermostat control module (you need) ... for about the same money!
Oh, will you ever have fun running around to find all that other stuff!! Bummer!!! Then, if you have to substitute this for that, and use the wrong components, it will look like a butchered job. That's the difference experience makes. Right, Andy?!!
Thanks Andy, if can you help us out here?! I know it will help me when I get to the salvage yard to buy my fan.

Just a thought,
I know of a place that is making their own fan kit for their customers L's. The use a factory shroud, SPAL fan (you could substitute a late model Mustang fan) and install a common 170* thermostatically controlled switch into the thermostat housing (drill and tap). I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to find the A/C coil feed and tap into it to run the second speed of the fan.
Some parts you could use, going by memory,
Shroud 1L3Z-8146-AA
170* Thermostat avail through Stant
Fan 1R3Z-8C607-AA
Relays- FOAZ-14N089-AA
Cobra/ Bullet pump- YR3Z-8501-AB
Most auto parts stores carry relay holders (or you can just plug into the Ford relays) and the connectors for the Ford fans or if you go to the junkyard as almost any Ford Mustang fan should work 94 up and grab a couple of the relays from any Ford fuse box. Add some wiring, cut down the fan and attach it to the shroud with some flat stock aluminum bent at 90* L's and away you go.

I was Thinking of installing a 18" electric fan into my factory shroud. I can find alot of 16 inchers but no 18 inchers. Anyone have any idea where I can get a high cfm 18" electric fan?
