well that's the problem with technology. Some day there WILL be a truck that can beat our L's it's just inevitable. But I will still love my truck every bit as much as I ever have. Just remember when one of the SRT10's pulls up next to you at the stop light just look at him and laugh saying "I paid $15000 less than you" Then spank his stock SRT10 side ways because we're putting alot of work into the L. If i put 15grand into my L it would be a 9 second machine... i think. at least low 10s...... ok so what if i suck at racing I still love my truck

i wonder how the manual will do in that truck. or should i say i wonder how the people will drive that truck with the manual in it.

 

ttt...there's a law somewhere that states there must be a SRT10 topic in the top 10 at all times, and I don't feel like starting my own.

12.9 on 24 in. wheels and street tires? Nope, nothing to be impressed about there.

I'm not excited about the SRT at all; but, it's gonna be a bad *** though. I say "who cares". $45,000 puts it too close to a Vette in price and I can't afford both. There's no way most people who care about performance first, with limited means, is going to choose anybody's sport truck over a Vette for equal money. Some would, but not many.

I think its a good looking truck..the wheels suck thats all. Hey, it ain't as "drop dead gorgeous" as the Lightning, though. No way in hell.

 

A Dodge is a Dodge no matter what motor you put in it..It is an Awsome combination... But I'm a Ford man,, I loved my 93 Lighting so much i bought a 2002.. And if they are still making them in about 5 years I'll will buy another one.. So if they dooo come out with these Dodge Vipers trucks im gonna put about a $1000 in my True Blue truck and still out run them....

I bet some of the 500 hp L's are turning low 12's or better. In the SRT-10's case it has to be a combo of an manual and 30 series profile tires. You put some 16's drags on the STR-10 and I wonder if it would drop at least 3/4 second.

BTW you guys with 20's and 22's must also be launch experts.

 

I might get bashed for this, but, I like it. Someone said with $15,000.00 they would get into the 9's or low 10's with a Lightning? I don't know about that, there are plenty of lightnings out there with more that $50,000.00 in them, counting the truck and low 11's is the best so far. I think it will take huge money to get a Lightning to the mid to low 10's and after that, more money than I would want to talk about.
We will just have to face it that the new Dodge is going to be the top dog in trucks when it comes out (Stock for stock). That's ok by me, then Ford will have to up the ante if they want the title back, then we will have really Bad A$$ trucks.
I know this is a (FORD) site and many of us are Ford crazy and that all other make of vehicles suck. But not me, I love my Lightning and all but I think that every auto and truck maker makes something that I would love to own. Everyone has their right to their own opinion, saying that I think the SRT-10 is sweet and if I had the room for another fair weather vehicle it would be in my garage.
