Out of curiosity, I called my dealer about the status of the 03 Cobra because my cousin is thinking about selling his Vette for one. He told me he has 3 coming and they are already sold well over MSRP. If one is ordered it will be late this year, possibly Dec. before it comes. He doesn't expect the prices to go below MSRP until the lots are flooded or the orders stop coming.

 

Metro Ford in Miami is selling them for $1000 over sticker, and if pushed the right way, would probably go at sticker.

They have 4 coupes and 2 convertibles coming in from the first batch.

 

Many many people at BON, Stangnet, and the Corral have ordered '03 Cobras at MSRP. You just have to shop around a bit.

If people would stop paying the overinflated prices at the dealerships, they would be forced to stop charging them. However, someone always wants to be the first on the block with the new toy...... and the dealerships bank on this.

When we ordered our '01 L, the dealers in Vegas wanted $8000 above sticker and would not order the truck. After much shopping around, where the best deal we found was MSRP...... we finally found someone who would work with you. We ordered the truck at $29,100.

Try to deal with a fleet salesperson, as they do not make their money on the individual sale, but on volume. They will be more willing to work with you.

 

In most dealships, the "Internet" sales staff are attached to the fleet department and are more willing to deal.
