Question weight of wheels an issue

I have not seen this before, and am not sure it's an issue...

Is the weight of the wheels an issue insofar as reducing overall vehicle weight and/or weight of the spinning mass of the wheel for launch and speed

Anything you can do to lower the weight of rotating componentry will allow your vehicle to accelerate more quickly.

Lightweight drag wheels are very beneficial in this regard. Though it is probably a good trick to find anything very light for a Lightning.

Yes,

I have light weight American Racing Wheels for my M/Ts on the rear when I'm 1/4 mileing.

Anytime you can reduce unsprung weight, you will be able to accelerate quicker.
