Anyone know how modify the wiring in our light switches so that the the fog lights can be turned on separately? What I mean by this is no parking lights, no head lights, no tail lights, FOGS ONLY.

In order to do as you would like, this should work:
1. File down 'ramp' in Off position
2. splice #2 and #10 wires together

Sorry for the downer, but I feel I need to post this next bit:
Please note, I am providing these instructions as a theoretical fix, as I have not tried this myself. I also do not know what affect this will have on the rest of the electrical system (wires, fuses, etc.), so try this at your own risk! I will not be held responsible for any problems or damages, etc. that occurs as a result of performing these modifications.

 

Would slpicing 2 and 10 cus a problem if you have 2 and 12 already spliced???

 

have to agree with spoon on this one, file down to the off position and then splice, not so ure about the wires since you have them spliced already...just keep a dry chem. extinguisher ready and you should be ok!, lol. good luck!

p.s.- looks MUCH cooler with parking lights on!

I too like the way it looks with the parking and fogs on but during the day crusing along the expressway I don't see any need for all the other lights to be on.

 

If you're going to try this, unsplice the #2/#12 combo before resplicing the #2/#10 combo. The new splice combination should allow for the fogs to be turned on independently in any position, provided the physical modification had already been done.

pgh_medic: I wrote the original instructions for the foglight mod, just under a different username at the time (lightning_svt). I changed to a different name because the old one just was too boring and non-unique. =)
