The single blade TB is only worth 4 or 5 HP maybe. But the increased throttle response and cool sound, not to mention looks pending on which one you get, is why people buy them.

How does it make the engine sound different?

Is it worth more on an engine running a bigger pulley? Say 4 or 5#er..

Seems to me that it would decrease the velocity of the air entering the engine compared to the stock twin unit, which would slightly decrease torque and increase topend HP. Is this right?

I dont see a TB helping more with pulleys. There are restrictions else where, and the TB isn't one of them. With a single blade TB, you just barley tip in to the gas, there is a cool wistleing sound.

01Lightning,

You maybe right. But that is getting into the technical phsyics of it. But again, the differance is so small, you can't really tell.
