Ford desperately needs that car in America. When was the last time you saw a new Taurus on the road? In Canada the Camry is eating Ford's lunch and everybody else's. After all it is the best selling car in North America and heads above a lousy Taurus.

Falcon! There's a Ranchero style version, also.

Yes, that's the Falcon; Tickford is like the "SVT" for Ford of Australia and puts together different types of special high performance packages for the vehicles down there.

Rumor has it the Australian's are HP crazy just like us...GM also sells a vehicle called the Holden (sp?) with different powertrain packages - I hear they ship Corvette engines over there and put them in those things.

...sure would be nice to have more rear-drive cars with some HP behind them.

Holden's

I know they're not Fords, but still pretty interesting. Here's a link,

http://www.hsv.com.au/

The HSV division is the equivalent of SVT. They'll stuff a V8 under the hood of anything down under!

There was an aussie Lightning owner on this board, he had his truck converted to right-hand drive, I wish he'd post some pics.

GAH!

Must not look at Interceptor replica or XC Cobra. Must not buy. Must walk away now.

Daniel,
I am not sure about Gary's Harley truck, I had heard that the company he was using to import and do the conversion went out of business?

We would love to have the Lightnings down here in RHD.

The XR series has been a big jump forward for Ford in Oz as there has always been a huge rivilary between the Fords and Holdens with the Commodores having such a huge following.

This weekend is the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide where the battle of Ford and Holden really begins!! Hopefully Ford will blitz it this year.

I will be watching it over the weekend, so I will let you all know how the legendary Fords went.

Hope you enjoy the pics,
Jody
