Want To Drop The Front 1"

Going to put in Herb's washers that I've had laying around for about a year and thought I'd lower it while I'm at it. Ideas and #'s please.

KGM,

Planning on doing the spring, washer, cam bolt install in addition to installing a set of Hawk brake pads.

I picked up a set of Eibach progressive rate springs from Mark @ Lightningforce for $150.

I just put in Belltech 2" springs. Gave me a perfect 1" drop. Ive heard from a member here and a write up on Titus's L that the Eibachs lower it more than 1", more like 1.5 to even 1.75 - I dont konw for certain if that is true though.

The belltechs not only make the truck look better but make it handle better, not as much body roll, and they absorb bumps much better than stock.

Belltech part no. 4803

JBLsilver01,

The springs used on Titus' Lightning are from So-Cal Speed Shop. They are Eibach springs manufactured exclusively for So-Cal and they do lower a Lightning 1.75". That's the spring I installed on my truck, it's a progressive spring and the ride is fantastic. Here's a pic of the Eibach (gray) next to a 1" drop Hotchkis spring.

The Eibach springs were $ 120.00 for the pair.

I'm not sure what the difference is between the two - the F150 2" drop springs are 4803. And they drop a L 1".

Tip when installing :

Put a small hydraulic jack in between the upper and lower control arm to put upward pressure on the upper CA to break the ball joint loose easily when you hit it.

So it seems like the eibach(grey) would not lower a Lightning more than 1 inch right?

Wrong Boostin,

Remember, the Eibach springs are progressive so they compress a lot more that a specific rate spring ( like the Hotchkis ). That's the wierd, wild stuff with coil springs. The gray one lowered my truck exactly 1.75" and the black one only 1".
