Question Magnaflow power loss (partially asked before)

I need help deciding whether or not to put on the Magnaflow 12468. I read the posts the other day about a power loss with this muffler on a stock engine. Some agreed the the loss others didn't. Would opening up the bottom of the stock air box compensate for this supposed loss? I am considering the recommended mod of chip and 3# lower pulley, but don't the the $$$$$ right now. I really would like to get a better sound from the truck and at least make myself feel a little faster. Thanks all for the great info in the past and sorry if this has already been asked.

There is no loss of power from that muffler. From what i understand there is also no real gain in power either, but it sounds awesome. I've put about 10k miles on mine and it sounds even better now than when i first put it on. JDM sells a simlilar muffler, and I dont think he would sell/use it if it made a loss in power.

Is the 12468 the aluminized dual in/out 8 inch muffler? Does anyone see any real advantage to using stainless steel over aluminized? Also, is their a sound difference between the 14468 and the 14568's? Sorry about all the ?'s I am just really looking into 1 of these 2 mufflers. Thanks.

This is old but I never get a good answer either. Well, not exactly. I get good answers but not the one I need. Being as cheap as I am, can anyone tell me if there is a good muffler that goes on this truck in place of the factory one without a lot of pipe work? Is there one that can just replace the stock one but sound better/louder?
