Who is running Toyo's?

Do you like them? Would you buy them again? Do they hook up ok? Need to replace tires and the Toyo's are the only thing I can find locally. Cost is not much more than the tire-rack F-1 pricing. Need some feedback please.

I have a pair on the front. I only have about 1000 miles on them but they seem fine. I will be getting a pair for the rear.

I'm running on TOYO'S and they are great. My two back tires I have to replace. But I would say " Buy them"

So far I love mine. The treadwear rating is by far much better than most of the other tires out there. I have Proxes S/T 295/45R20's and I love them.

I have Proxes S/T 18's on mine, front and rear. They seem to be great so far. I have about 4500 miles on them. Wet and dry traction is great. Treadwear is MUCH better than the F1's. Like any tire on the L, rotate them regularly!!!

Hey,

I have Toyyo Proxies S/T tires on my 01 Chrome 20" rims, they are 295/45R20's. They work a lot better than the F1's in the rain and treadwear is excellent, ride is great.

Thumbs up

I, have the 295/45/18's on my 01. Reason they are great traction in wet, and are also allseason rated. I, use my truck all year round. they are on 2000 L wheels for winter. put on in November off in April. Than back to the f-1's for summer. Artie

Looks like I'm the high mileage champ so far. I've got 23,000 miles on my Proxes so far, and they've got over 1/2 of the tread still left. I've been very happy with them. Price should be less than the F1's by a decent margin. If your local dealer's trying to rape you check prices at www.treadepot.com .

Price local is $231/ea mount and balanced. Problem is they have me by the short hairs. I ran through a box of spilled roofing nails yesterday and took out all 4 Goodyears. The Toyo's are the only tires I found in town. Wish I had time to wait for mail order. By the time I paid freight, mount and balance the difference isn't that big.

I love my Proxes S/T's too, but...

I have to disagree with the majority on this one. I think that the wet weather traction is worse than with the stock F1's, but the dry is about the same. Didn't notice much of a handling difference either way, but the tread life/mileage is definitely improved...(not by twice as much, but a significant amount nonetheless).

However, the two biggest reasons I can think of off the top of my head why I like these tires so much and why I would buy them again are:

(1) The look of the tread pattern; but more importantly...
(2) The noise they make and the rubber marks they leave when you bark 2nd gear!

My F1's were basically silent (just spun) when I'd bang 2nd gear and left no noticable marks- which was kind of a disappointment. I'd definitely buy Toyo's again if I was looking for another set of 18's.

I got mine at http://www.treadepot.com too.

Later...

Nitto 555's all the way, bitch!

Dry Pavement, wet pavement, cornering=

Big boon= rim edge protection, unlike F-1's

NOTE: THESE ARE NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH THE NITTO 555R, the soft-rubber drag radial.

I have to agree with MXRacer. The Toyo's don't seem quite as good in the wet, but the difference isn't huge IMO, because I don't push the truck at all in the wet - there's no point!

I bought them on Moonshine's suggestion, and have been very happy these last 9k miles or so. These tires are a steal.

Just had the Toyo's mounted. No feedback yet. Wanted to do the Nitto's but had 2 problems. #1 nobody has them in stock. I scoured the nation on-line and struck out. #2 I had to have them done today. I ran through a box of nails spilled on the road and took out all 4 Goodyears. Total of 21 nails.
