Shinin' those tires up

Anyone else have trouble making those Goodyear F1's shine? The best stuff I've had so far that works alright is the Eagle 1 Wet Gel. Any other ideas?

I'm not exactly sure of what the name of it is, but my dad knows a guy at a detail shop, and it's just a huge plain bottle with "vinyl seal" on it, but i put 3 coats on my tires (took about 20 min), about 3 1/2 weeks ago, and i wash my truck 2-3 times a week, and they still shine like i just did them. I will try to find out the exact name, and where you can get it.

I use Coats Tire Dressing and cut it 50% with water. If not they look like like high gloss polyurethane paint " black". Just my preferance on how much I want them to shine.

Question

Has anyone found a tire dressing or a method for applying the tire dressing that will keep the stuff from slinging up all over the side of the truck? Once that stuff gets on you paint it's like a dirt magnet.

I use Super Dressal on the tires (as well as the interior and engine). It dries after about 20 minutes and will not sling off. It is water based and for several weeks. Available from
American Detail Supply

The also sell Cherry Wet Wax.

Know what you mean....dirt magnet....had that problem with my white Cobra......finally found a product that had minimal "sling". Made by Turtle Wax.....called "Tire Wax".... in a green bottle...purchased at Wal-Mart, best stuff I have found that actually stays on tires. Not real glossy, but looks good.

I went to Pepboys, and bought these detail sponges, they were real cheap like a buck or two, but they have a hard yellow brick shaped sponge, and then a soft black one connected to it that is wedgedshaped. I works real good with the liquid. you just have to make sure you let the tires dry real good.

Apply

I use anything I have, the trick is to apply the spray on to a clean rag then wipe it on. Won"t sling off.

I use Meguire's. I don't go for a shine but prefer the satin finish. Just rub it on, wipe it off and it holds up for weeks.

Armor All Tire Foam. Spray it on and after a couple of minutes wipe them down with a rag. The move the truck and get the part of the tire that was on the bottom. I like to let it stand for 20-30 minutes so that it won't sling off.

I like turtle wax tire wax, doesn't fly off and you can determine the amount of shine by the application
