Need Help on Head Unit for L.

I'm replacing the factory head unit with a kenwood CD receiver and need help deciding between the eXcelon KDC-X917 and the eXcelon Z828. It will be used with a Kicker Z700 mono amp powering 2 12" Solabarics at 2 ohms and a ZR240 powering a pair of Kicker 6.5 Resolution components. Also, don't know much about MP3, but can you copy a CD on the PC and transfer to MP3 disk?

depends on the software you use. some software will take the audio from the cd and turn it into a .wav file which will be like 25 or more megs. if the software you have does that then you can just download a .wav to .mp3 converter from download.com and just convert them. but...most new program have an option to convert cd audio directly into mp3 isntead of cd to .wav to .mp3 so you shouold be fine.

Hey 00Blacklightning

I was wondering if you would by any chance happen to have pictures of your subwoofer set up, and also do you have to put your seat forward for the box.

I don't have any pix but I'll see if I can Take some next weekend. The box has been completed but I'm still working on the finish. Doing the final sanding of the fiberglass in preparation of the black base coat/ clear coat. Built it of MDF with a layer of fiberglass all around it

I would encourage you to wait a few weeks as all the new models are coming out quickly. I just replaced my 7875 with the 7893 as of yestruday. and we are soon to get the MP3 compatible alpines in, including the MP3/dvd CHANGER!

anyways just a thought, hate to see people waste money on the old gear...
