In September I had my entire engine replaced by Tommie Vaughn Ford in Houston. I had some minor body warranty work done lately, and I was asked how I was likeing the rebuilt engine. (the service manager noticed the mods) I said that it was running damn strong, and he told me that the reman. engines were usually punched 30 over, and used stronger lower-end components. He also said that the engines were not being rebuilt by Ford but were subcontracted out, and QA'ed by SVT. Very interesting. I inquired about rods and berings and such, and he said that they removed the oil pan on one and found MANLEY rods and ARP studs. This guy doesn't play around, TV Ford is the premier service dealership for SVT in Houston.
Holy smoke.
Did someone at SVT get a hint?

Well I have a reman engine in the L right now (that is what my paperwork says on it) and it broke a rod. I hope they were not Manley. Will be taking it out of the L this weekend (as long as I can get an engine stand in time) and tearing it apart next week. Will let everyone know what I find inside.
Seems to me that they would use Ford OEM components for a rebuild as they are cheaper. We shall see...

The Reman motor I just looked at did not have Manley rods in it. One was blown here and I got to see the thing before it was shipped back to Ford...
Sorry man but this fits....
